The Pennsylvania SPCA recently honored Gerry Shreiber, president and chief executive officer of J & J Snack Foods Corporation for his ongoing support at the second annual Executive Leaders Radio CEO “Paying it Forward” Philanthropy Awards Breakfast.

“Gerry has been a dedicated supporter and friend of the Pennsylvania SPCA for many years,” said Jerry Buckley, chief executive officer of the society. “His generous contributions have allowed us to continue our lifesaving mission of preventing animal cruelty, particularly through our Humane Law Enforcement Department.

The Pennsylvania SPCA was one of only 19 non-profit organizations in the Delaware Valley invited to participate in the awards breakfast. A Who’s Who of business leaders in the Philadelphia area received recognition for their community philanthropy at a special event held at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.  The Philanthropy Awards Breakfast was sponsored by Executive Leaders Radio Program, the #1 rated business news program in the region, also Nationally Syndicated in over 16 states nationwide.

“We recognized these CEOs for their leadership and commitment to their communities,” says Temple University Entrepreneurial Center co-founder Herb Cohen, who also co-founded Executive Leaders Radio. The awards were presented to each selected CEO by the non-profit they support.

Based in Pennsauken, New Jersey, Gerry Shreiber founded J & J Snack Foods in 1971 after purchasing a bankrupt frozen pretzel company and turning it into a leading food and beverage manufacturing and marketing corporation with more than $850 million in sales annually.
