Thanks for Visiting, Lil Bub!

Lil Bub visited the Pennsylvania SPCA!

The Pennsylvania SPCA was pleased to welcome internet cat phenomenon, Lil Bub, to Philadelphia on Monday, April 22! Lil Bub stopped by the Pennsylvania SPCA’s headquarters to meet fans and raise funds for the organization.  Fans raised $800 in cash donations and brought enough food, treats and toys to help hundreds of other cats waiting for their new homes.

Lil Bub burst onto the online scene in July of 2012 and quickly became a favorite of cat fanciers around the world. As a rescue herself, Lil Bub uses her fame to help other kitties in need. Only a short time ago, Lil Bub was found abandoned and now has a happy home. A portion of proceeds from Lil Bub’s merchandise sold at the event on April 22 will be donated to the Pennsylvania SPCA.

About Lil Bub

Lil BUB is a one of a kind kitty born the runt of a feral litter. She was born with a multitude of genetic anomalies including dwarfism, an underdeveloped lower jaw and no teeth (which causes her amazing tongue to stick out at all times), extra toes on every paw, opposable thumbs and huge green eyes. She was found as a kitten in the woods of Indiana and was bottle fed until she could eat on her own. She then found a permanent home with her dude, who took her in when she was eight weeks old and weighed only six ounces. She is now almost 2 years old and is fully grown at four pounds. Aside from having some difficulty with mobility, she is an extremely healthy and happy cat.

Over the past year Lil BUB has become one of the most well-known and most loved cats on our planet. After photos of her amazing face started circulating on the internet she quickly gained a giant online fan base who not only fell in love with her sweet face, but also was inspired by her positive message of encouraging adoption, promoting spaying and neutering, overcoming adversity and proving that being different is great. She has since appeared on Good Morning America, is coming out with a stunning photo book (Gotham Books) and even has a feature-length documentary called “Lil BUB and Friendz,” produced by VICE Media, which is premiering at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.

BUB has made a point to use her fame to help raise awareness and money for other animals in need. To date Lil BUB has directly raised more than $30,000 for various charities and is additionally responsible for helping to raise thousands more and for saving countless pets’ lives through sharing stories via her social networking sites.
