Philadelphia, July 2, 2009—The Pennsylvania SPCA today announced that Dr. Ravi Murarka will return to his post as Medical Director, effective July 7, 2009. Dr. Murarka joined the PSPCA in June of 1992 and left in March of 2009 at the request of management at that time.
On June 3, 2009, Susan Cosby became the new CEO of the PSPCA and conducted a review of the case that led to his dismissal. “I spoke with many of Dr. Murarka’s supporters as well as those involved in the circumstances surrounding his departure, and I believe that it is appropriate for him to return to the PSPCA,” said Cosby.
“The PSPCA has full faith and confidence in Dr. Murarka’s integrity as a veterinarian, and we are very pleased to have him back,” Cosby added. “The PSPCA is looking forward to building on our long-standing relationship with Dr. Murarka and utilizing his professional capabilities to help animals in need.”
Dr. Murarka’s work saving sick and injured animals has been featured in Animal Planet’s recent television series, Animal Cops: Philadelphia.
