Share the Love with the Pennsylvania SPCA's Fabulous Tabbies!

As Valentine’s Day approaches, why not lavish your affection on some fabulous tabbie cats in need of a new home? There’s good reason that some of history’s most famous celebrity felines, including Garfield, Heathcliff and Morris, have been tabbies and the Pennsylvania SPCA has hundreds that would love to be the star in your home.

Although they are the most common type of domestic cat, tabbies have some unique physical characteristics and a rich history. It is believed that they are the distant descendant of Egypt’s African wildcat, which was brought to Rome and Greece by ancient traders, and then began breeding with other wildcats across Europe. Tabbies most resemble tigers with their bold strips in various shades of orange, brown and gray, as well as the distinctive “M” on their foreheads.

Through the month of February, adult tabbie cats (older than six months of age) will be available for a reduced adoption fee of $40. Through the “Adopt-A-Buddy” Program, animal lovers can adopt two cats or kittens for the price of one!

The Pennsylvania SPCA headquarters, located at 350 E.
