Directions to the Pennsylvania SPCA headquarters location in Philadelphia:


Take the Schuylkill Expressway to the Roosevelt Boulevard (US 1 North) Exit. You will come to a concrete canyon under Broad Street at which time you will bear to the right and get into the local lanes of the Boulevard. After proceeding another 200 yards, take a right turn onto Wingohocking Street. Proceed to the stop sign and take a right turn onto 9th Street. Proceed to the second traffic light and turn left onto Hunting Park Avenue. Continue to the 5th traffic light and turn right onto Front St. Go to the second traffic light and turn left onto Erie Avenue and proceed for approximately 1/4 mile. The Pennsylvania SPCA will be on the right, just past the BP/Amoco gas station.


Traveling from Eastern Montgomery County, take either Route 309 or Route 611 to Cheltenham Avenue and proceed to the end. At the end, turn right onto Crescentville Road and take approximately 1/4 mile to the first traffic light. Go left at the light onto Adams Run and proceed one mile until you reach Roosevelt Boulevard. make a right and get into the lane marked “Whitaker Avenue.” Follow signs for Whitaker Avenue (you will be crossing the Boulevard) and take Whitaker for approximately 2 miles. You will come to an intersection with Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children on the right and a BP/Amoco Station on the left. This is Erie Avenue. Turn left onto Erie Avenue and the Pennsylvania SPCA is 150 yards down on the right.


If you are traveling via the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, continue on Robbins Avenue (the street that takes you off of the bridge).Travel under I-95 and continue for approximately 6 blocks to Torresdale Avenue and make a left. Torresdale Avenue eventually becomes Erie Avenue. You will begin to see streets with letter names. The Pennsylvania SPCA is located between “D” and “B” Streets on Erie Avenue. The shelter is on your left so when you reach “D” Street, move to the inside lane which is actually the trolley lane. Go 1 block and make a left turn into the parking lot.

If you are traveling from the Ben Franklin Bridge or Walt Whitman Bridge, follow signs to I-95 North/Trenton. Take I-95 to the Allegheny Avenue Exit. At the bottom of the exit ramp, make a left onto Richmond Street. Follow this down to Alleghany Avenue and continue westbound for 2 miles to “B” Street. Turn right onto “B” Street and proceed for 5 blocks to Erie Avenue. There will be a BP/Amoco gas station on your right and Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children on your left.
