Our goal is to provide you with prompt, factual information and serve as a resource to newsroom personnel. Our Media/Public Relations Department is available seven days a week to respond to inquiries from local, regional and national print, broadcast and online media outlets. In addition to providing information on breaking news stories and current events, we have a variety of staff available to provide expert commentary on a wide-range of animal welfare related topics including veterinary care, humane law enforcement, animal adoptions, animal behavior and training and issues in animal sheltering among others.
Media Tips:
To effectively facilitate media requests at the Pennsylvania SPCA, please refer to these guidelines:
- Media must arrange all interviews and photo shoots in advance through the Media/Public Relations Department.
- To ensure safety and appropropriate sensitivity to staff and clients, all reporters, film crews and photographers must always be accompanied by a staff person while on the Pennsylvania SPCA campus.
- Media will be met by a staff member in the lobby or specified location and escorted to the appropriate location.
- Staff, volunteers and clients of the Pennsylvania SPCA who agree to be interviewed or filmed must provide consent.
