Every year, animal-loving Phillies fans come out in full force the support the Pennsylvania SPCA during Save a Pet at the Park night. Hosted by the Phillies Wives, the event features adoptable dogs and cats, exciting raffle prizes, autographed "mystery" baseballs, and a donation drive. This year's event was held on June 12, 2009 and raised more than $30,000 for the Pennsylvania SPCA Dog Park. It also launched the Save a Pet at the Park 16-month calendar.
