Veterinary Hospital
The PSPCA Veterinary Hospital provides routine and emergency veterinary care. If the diagnosis indicates that specialized treatment is necessary, the veterinarian may advise you where to take your pet for treatment. Although we like to believe vet hospital clients are already concerned about their pets, our veterinarians are alert for signs of injury or emaciation arising from human abuse or neglect. They will report their suspicions to agents of the PSPCA, who may order owners to take corrective action under penalty of law. But no need to worry – our vets are great, warm practitioners who only have the best interest of pets at heart.

As with human medicine, animal healthcare's costs are often high. We make every effort to minimize these costs, but we can't absorb them completely. Public welfare does not subsidize animal care, so you'll have to pay for the medical services your pet receives. Pet owners over 60 years of age receive a 10% discount for routine care, but discounts don't apply to work done outside our hospital (such as laboratory testing of blood, fluids or tissue.) As with healthcare in general, the financial demands of pet medical care may seem intimidating, but we believe they're a necessary investment in the well-being of your loyal, unassuming, unconditionally loving four-legged companion – who can put a price on that?

Please keep in mind that hospital hours are by appointment only. To schedule one for your pet, please call the PSPCA Hospital Appointment Line at 215 426 7400 during hospital hours. The hours for appointments and to call to schedule an appointment are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. Please click here if you have any questions. The hospital is closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

If your pet was adopted from us, make sure you take advantage of the free 3-in-1 cat or the 5-in-1 dog series of shots. They're only free if you come when scheduled. If you don't, you'll have to start the series all over again at your own cost.
