Cranberry & Frances

Twice in recent history dogs have been dumped in trash bags in our area. First, Cranberry was found in Wissahickon Park in November by a hiker. Now, on January 18, a Dachshund named Frances was discovered in a trash bag in the Summerdale section of Philadelphia.

“This is the second recent case involving a dog being dumped in a trash bag where luckily a Good Samaritan has intervened,” said Nicole Wilson, the PSPCA’s Director of Humane Law Enforcement, in a released statement. “Dogs are not trash, and we urge anyone with information about this dog and the situation that led to its abandonment to come forward.”
