For individuals 18 years and older interested in volunteering at our Philadelphia location in Fishtown, we welcome you to our newest facility! Volunteers at our Fishtown shelter support our staff in a number of ways and help us build our capacity to save more lives.
Step 1: Attend an Open House.
Open House is an hour-long session that includes an introduction to the services we offer, review of the roles you can fill as volunteer, and a tour of our satellite facility. RSVP to an Open House today! (This link will become live once our programs reopen.)
Step 2: Complete an application.
Following attendance at an Open House, you will be invited to complete our volunteer application. The application is a comprehensive profile of your individual passions and skills; it helps our staff identify the best fit for you at our organization.
Step 3: Schedule and attend Animal Handling Trainings and/or specialized tracks.
Once your application is reviewed, you can begin volunteering right away! You will also be invited to attend training classes focused on handling our pooches and kitties. Based on your individual interests, you may also schedule specialized trainings and/or volunteer shifts in other areas (i.e. events, veterinary medicine).
**We apologize for the inconvenience, but we do not currently have a program for individuals under the age of 18 or those looking to complete community service at our Fishtown location.
