Get ready for the 2016 Bark & Whine! The Pennsylvania SPCA’s signature event attracts hundreds of animal advocates and has raised nearly $2 million to benefit the animals. In the past three years, Bark & Whine has honored some amazing animal champions including Marsha Perelman, Mickey and Larry Magid, Jennifer Utley, Gerry Shreiber and Helene van Beuren.
This year we are pleased to announce that the 2016 Bark & Whine will honor two very special animal advocates, Lindy Snider and George Bengal.
Lindy Snider is a PSPCA Board Member and the founder and CEO of Lindi Skin, the first full line of skin care products for cancer patients. Lindy is an advocate and supporter of the PSPCA and was chosen to be honored for her ongoing commitment to the animals and to the PSPCA’s lifesaving work.
George Bengal served as the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Director of Humane Law Enforcement beginning in 2007. George began his career in animal welfare and humane law enforcement after spending 20 years as a Philadelphia police officer. Recently, George was lost his battle with cancer. It was his wish, along with his wife, Carole, that his legacy continues.
To ensure that the work of the PSPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement operations carries on, the George Bengal Fund To End Animal Cruelty has been established to help sustain the work of removing animals from cruelty and neglect, prosecuting the culprits and rehabilitating the animals so they can regain their physical and emotional health.
