Foxwynd Foundation invests in Pennsylvania SPCA to Save and Improve Lives of Shelter’s Residents
The Foxwynd Foundation’s Donor Advised Fund provides generous donation to PSPCA Philadelphia, PA (August 7, 2024)—The Foxwynd Foundation has made a generous commitment to the Pennsylvania SPCA to support facility improvements at the organization’s Philadelphia Headquarters. The grant of $85,000, which is part of a matching program, will fund a much-needed HVAC replacement to the building’s protective custody housing section. Protective custody animals are those who have been rescued from animal cruelty and neglect but have not yet been surrendered to the organization. They are often involved in open court cases and have stays that last weeks, months, or, in some cases, even years.
“We are so grateful for the trust and support of the Foxwynd Foundation and expect our donors to help with matching funds so we can complete this very important project,” said Deborah Bowles, Chief Development Officer at the Pennsylvania SPCA. “When animals are tied up in the justice system, we often don't know how long their stay may be. But, while they are here, it is our duty to care for them medically and emotionally, ensuring their stress levels are at a minimum. This makes temperature control all the more important, reducing stress for the animals.”
Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of Foxwynd Foundation, stated, "The Bentley family has a long-standing history of supporting the PSPCA, and we are delighted to formalize and strengthen this partnership through the Foundation. Animal protection and advocacy are key components of our environmental sustainability efforts. We are committed to advancing the rights and welfare of animals, and this partnership represents a significant stride towards that goal."
