Criminal History & Application Authorization

In accordance with our mission, the protection of animals, and public safety, the PSPCA conducts individualized assessments regarding criminal histories post-conditional offer. Convictions for animal cruelty, animal abuse, assault, burglary, theft, or sex crimes are considered substantially job-related conflicts and will generally disqualify an individual from employment. In alignment with Philadelphia and Pennsylvania regulations, criminal background inquiries are not part of the initial application screening. Applications and resumes are kept active and on file for one year, after which candidates must reapply for future consideration.
