The Pennsylvania SPCA Announces $135,000 Fellowship Commitment from the Foxwynd Foundation

October 22, 2026

Strengthening Animal Cruelty Investigations and Protecting Vulnerable Animals Across Central Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, PA (October 21, 2026) – The Pennsylvania SPCA is honored to announce that it has been selected for a three-year grant through the Foxwynd Foundation’s Fellowship Program. Foxwynd Foundation Trustee Keith Bentley selected the PSPCA’s Main Line Animal Rescue for this prestigious opportunity, which fosters deeper philanthropic partnerships and provides multi-year funding to organizations advancing the Foundation’s mission.

The grant will support the PSPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement (ALE) program by funding a dedicated officer to serve Central Pennsylvania. The PSPCA’s ALE team covers eighteen Pennsylvania counties, investigating reports of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect and rescuing animals from dangerous situations. The new officer will focus on Potter, Montour, Northumberland, Lycoming, and Schuylkill counties.

Last year, the PSPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement officers conducted more than 4,700 cruelty investigations and rescued more than 1,800 animals from abuse and neglect. Despite this extensive reach, the need for intervention remains significant. A dedicated officer will expand regional capacity, helping the PSPCA respond to more reports, investigate more allegations of abuse and neglect, and protect vulnerable animals across Central Pennsylvania. Funding will cover the officer’s salary, required training, uniforms, equipment, and onboarding costs.

“Animal cruelty investigations require a strong, sustained presence in the communities we serve,” said Julie Klim, CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA. “We are honored that Mr. Bentley and the Foxwynd Foundation have chosen to invest in our work through this fellowship, allowing us to put a dedicated officer back in Central Pennsylvania, improve our response across the region, and give our existing officers greater capacity. We are grateful for the trust the Foundation has placed in the Pennsylvania SPCA.”

“As an animal lover, visiting an animal rescue facility can be a difficult and disheartening experience. However, when Rene and I recently visited the PSPCA’s Main Line Animal Rescue, we found the experience hopeful and inspiring. We met a compassionate community of staff and volunteers dedicated not only to rescuing animals and preventing abuse, but also to helping them heal, regain trust, and find permanent homes. I selected the PSPCA for the Foxwynd Fellowship Program because I truly appreciate its mission, its strong volunteer-supported operations, and its long 150+ year history,” stated Keith Bentley of The Foxwynd Foundation.

This grant was made possible through the Foxwynd Foundation Donor-Advised Fund (DAF).
