Jefe

Say hello to Jefe! He came to the shelter as a stray, and was very nervous and confused. It took some time for us to gain his trust, and he still has some handling sensitivities and clearly carries some baggage from his former life. Jefe is certainly capable of being affectionate but you have to be patient and let him go at his own pace. He has shown significant stranger danger, so he is looking for an adult-only home. He does seem to like other dogs and may do well with a canine companion. We are not sure how he feels about cats but he is willing to try with proper introductions. Jefe is the result of poor socialization; he is not a bad dog. He has so much potential if you are ready to take a chance on him.
