Gala event honors Mars Veterinary Health, others dedicated to the fight against animal cruelty
WHAT: The Pennsylvania SPCA will celebrate nearly 160 years of protecting Pennsylvania’s animals at the organization’s Bark & Whine gala, the nonprofit’s signature fundraising event. Founded in 1867, the PSPCA has upheld its mission of protecting animals, preventing cruelty, and improving the health and quality of life for animals in Pennsylvania and the region for more than a century and a half.
The evening, hosted at URBN at the Navy Yard, will feature cocktails, dinner, and dancing while honoring fellow animal advocates.
This year, the PSPCA will honor Mars Veterinary Health and its family of practices—Banfield Pet Hospital, BluePearl Pet Hospital, and VCA Animal Hospitals—for their commitment and work toward caring for, treating, and saving animals. This includes more than $350,000 in grants and in-kind donations from its charitable arms, Banfield Foundation, BluePearl Cares and VCA Charities, to generously support the PSPCA’s community outreach and shelter-based work.
Past honorees include Steven Korman, Thomas & Linda Knox, James Berwind & Kevin Clark, and the Life of Riley team, Helene van Beuren, Katie & Marc Hembrough, Governor Ed Rendell, Phillies legend Larry Bowa and his wife Patty, Marsha Perelman, Lindy Snider, Jennifer Utley, and Gerry Shreiber. This signature event attracts hundreds of animal advocates each year and has raised millions of dollars toward the PSPCA’s lifesaving mission.
The evening will be hosted by The New 965’s Bennett.
